This is &lt;a href="http://www.chromeweblab.com/" title="chrome web lab experiment"&gt;definitely worth a play if you have yet to take a look &lt;/a&gt;and it looks like here at hyperbrand we are going to start brushing up on our HTML5. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Brands are consistently on the look out for newer and more intuitive ways to elevate the customer experience at their store, through the integration of &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;sophisticated&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; technology. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Just take a look at the Audi City Store. It consists of multiple interactive digital walls, controlled by pressure sensor floor plates and large tablet-style devices allowing customers to create a car from the group up and see the car in true scale on the huge digital walls in front of them. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This also brings to mind the new&lt;a href="https://vimeo.com/38098738"&gt; Nike concept store&lt;/a&gt; I featured a couple of months ago and how they sought to integrate digital and physical elements (just realized Tumblr had somehow deleted this post). The&lt;a href="http://wildgoosechasing.com/post/24468253327/tactile-navigation-and-the-opportunities-for"&gt; tactile objects prototype&lt;/a&gt; developed by DigitasLab and Ayotle is also worth revisiting.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Developed by the creative agency McCann, the AR app is a project that the Swedish build-it-yourself furniture empire has been working on for quite a while, since 2011 when they first expressed interset in bridging the print/digital divide. Linus Karlsson, Global Chief Creative Officer of McCann, &lt;a href="http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/07/ikeas-augmented-reality-catalog-lets-you-peek-inside-the-malm/"&gt;explained to &lt;em&gt;Wired&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/a&gt; that replacing the paper catalog with an entirely digital product wouldn’t make sense, “If you had a magazine that had 211 million copies in circulation, you just would’t end it. That would be crazy.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With this added digital layer, shopping Ikea’s collection will become a little bit easier—an “X-ray” feature allows you to peer inside cabinets, for example, making a trip to the brick-and-mortar store potentially unnecessary. (Not enough of Ikea’s collection is available for purchase online to cut out a trip to the store entirely.)&lt;/p&gt;
